Dear Alan,
You belong to the exclusive club of former Open de France champions. For the celebration of the centenary of the event, to be held next June, we would love to bring the members of this club together.
We are then glad to invite you to join the Centenary tournament of the Open de France, from June 29th through July 2nd at Le Golf National, near Paris.
Let us remind you that the Open de France is one of the oldest national open tournaments in the world, and that its prize money has steadily been raised up to €uro 4 million (US$ 4.75 million) in 2006, making the event one of the biggest on the European Tour.
It would be a great honour for us if you agreed to be with us for this centenary, and we would be happy to pay for your hotel expenses, in Paris or close to the course, according to your choice.
We also plan to have a dinner party in your honour, on Tuesday 27th June, in the presence of the champions, the French and International golf authorities as well as our main sponsors who give us the means to achieve our ambition : making the Open de France one of the best tournaments in the world golf season.
