2002 Australian PGA Senior Champion and Team Titanium leader, Mike Ferguson, has confirmed his entry in the $150,000 Titanium Enterprises Australian PGA Seniors Championship to be played at the Greg Norman-designed Club Pelican, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast from 14 to 17 October, 2004.
Ferguson, who divides his playing time between the Australian Seniors circuit and European Seniors Tour, confirmed he will play at Club Pelican in October. Ferguson has had a number of Top 10 finishes in Australia and Europe this year but will be hoping he can improve on his recent form and regain the Seniors Champion title he held in 2002.
“I’m really looking forward to coming home and playing at Club Pelican,” Ferguson said. “It’s a great course and I’ll certainly be hoping I can improve on my 2003 result and win the Championship this year round.”
The Titanium Enterprises Australian PGA Seniors Championship will be played for the first time at Club Pelican this year after Titanium Enterprises secured the naming rights for the Championship for the next three years.
A field of more than 85 professionals from Australia and abroad are expected to contest the Championship with those missing the top 50 cut for the major prizemoney to play-off for a $10,000 purse over two days.
An $80,000 four-day Pro-Am for regular Tour professionals, the Titanium Invitational, will be staged in association with the Seniors Championship.
Previous winners of the Australian PGA Seniors Championship include Orville Moody, Bill Dunk, Terry Gale, Lee Trevino and Ian Stanley.
