Former Ford Senior Players Championship winner on the Champions Tour and 1977 & 1986 Malaysian Open Champion confirmed he will play the 2005 Asian Senior Masters in November at the Palm Resort Golf & Country Club from 11th to 13th November.
Ginn won the Ford Senior Players Championship in 2002 on the Champions Tour @ the TPC of Michigan where he was a one-stroke victor over Jim Thorpe, Mike McCullough and Hubert Green. His birdie on the 17th hole proved to be the difference and earned him a career-best $375,000.
“I’m delighted to be able to participate in the first staging of the Asian Seniors Masters in Malaysia” Ginn said from his home in Malaysia.
Ginn was a mainstay on the Australasian and Japan PGA Golf Tours for more than 20 years. Won 16 times around the world as a professional, including the Tasmanian Open three times. Was a semi finalist in the Australian Amateur in 1970 and was the Victorian Junior champion. Was talked out of attempting to play the PGA TOUR by his peers in the early 1970s and regretted his decision. Has used up an estimated 20 passports to play golf throughout the world and has won tournaments on three different tours in his career. Ginn comes from a non-golf family, although they lived behind the 12th green at famed Royal Melbourne GC. For Stewart Ginn’s profile please click HERE
