Sponsor's AIG S.E.A. exercised their Sponsor's Exemptions in a most novel and well received fashion.
ASM senior professional golfers who unfortunately failed to make the ASM’s 2 day cut, but had shown their full commitment to the 2005 ASM @ Palm Resort by booking to stay on till Sunday 13th Nov 2005 (unlike some who had pre-booked their return flights for the Saturday) were treated to a considerable surprise.
Sponsors AIG S.E.A. provided these professional golfers with a second chance to get back into the 2005 ASM @ Palm Resort tournament, by offering their Sponsor's Exemptions as prizes to be won by two nearest to the pin chipping competitions, staged from in front of the PRGCC Club House.
Toh Truadpol from Thailand was the nearest to the 18th pin on the Cempaka course, which was staged on Saturday 12th Nov 2005 evening.
Danny Cheong from Singapore was the nearest to the 18th pin on the Allamanda course, which staged on Sunday 13th Nov 2005 morning prior to the T-off of the 2005 ASM @ Palm Resort’s final day.
The senior professional golfers, in attendance on Sunday 13 Nov 2005, who despite having missed the 2 day ASM cut, and the opportunity to re-enter the ASM tournament via the AIG S.E.A. sponsored activities, were treated to their own event, in recognition and appreciation for the support and commitment.
P Perumal - Malaysia
Daniel Lim - Singapore
Ryuji Aikawa - Japan
Yutaka Horiuchi - Japan
Robert Heyman - Sweden
Wayne Taylor - Australia
The above professionals took part in a winner takes all, social competition amongst themselves on the Allamanda course, arranged by the AST. Each participant put RM 100 into the pot, and the AST added a further RM 300 and covered the cost of green fees, etc.
The winner was P Perumal from Malaysia.
We wish to thank all the 2005 ASM @ Palm Resort sponsors, and the senior professional's who contested the 2005 ASM @ Palm resort for their kind support and participation, without whom the event would not be possible, and we look forward to seeing you at the various ASM events planned for 2006. |
