Today Malaysia’s Johnny Wong shot a five under par to win the
2007 Citi Corporate Pro-Am Golf Day.
Wong’s five under par equalled the Palm Garden Golf Club’s course record, set last year by Thailand’s Amphorn Maneerat, who came second in the 2006 ASM @ Malaysia, loosing to KL resident and current European Senior Tour No. 3 Stewart Ginn.
The inaugural Citi Corporate Pro-Am Golf Day is one of several prestigious Pro-Am tournaments and lead up events to be staged in conjunction with the 2007 Asian Senior Masters @ Malaysia a senior professional golf tournament Sanctioned by the Asian Seniors Tour (AST) and Co-Sanctioned by the Malaysian PGA.
2007 ASM @ Malaysia pro tournament will be contested at the Palm Garden Golf Club from 7-9 September.
This year, the (AST) is pleased to welcome back main sponsor’s Giant, F&N, AIG and to introduce new sponsor’s Citi and Heineken – GAB and Dewar’s, main partners of this much anticipated golf tournament, a showdown which will see 120 professional senior golfers from over 25 countries, including some of the best golfers from the region, doing battle to be this year’s 2007 Asian Senior Masters @ Malaysia competing for prize money of US$ 100,000 the 3rd highest purse offered in Malaysia.
This year’s ASM @ Malaysia tournament will incorporate the usual Amateur Junior and Open Invitational Pro-Am Qualifier events and a record seven Pro-Ams including the inaugural Citi Corporate Pro-Am Golf Day and the 2nd Giant Corporate Golf Challenge during which some 800 amateur golfers will participate.
The three-day ASM @ Malaysia Pro Tournament, will be staged from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th September.

Asian Senior Masters events are the only professional golf tournaments which provide leading amateur golfers from Malaysia, Singapore and the Asian region, who succeed in being placed in the top ten of an ASM Pro-Am event, with the unique opportunity to play for the ASM Amateur Championship Semi-finals alongside three Asian Senior Tour PGA Professional golfers who will be competing in the first two days of the AIA Singapore Asian Senior Masters professional tournament.
