In fine conditions Garry Merrick from South Australia won the 2004 Tasmanian Open "Elliott Booth" cup with a fantastic final round of 67.
Merrick who was three shots behind the leader after round one, shot 67 to be outright winner by three shots to Randall Vines of Queensland who shot 72 and 68 respectively. Followed closely by Richard Beer (NSW), John Clifford (NSW) and Ian Stanley (VIC) who all finished on 143 after shooting final round scores of 68, 74 & 76 respectively.
The leading Senior Amateur from Hervey Bay in QLD was Doug Thorp shooting 74 & 75 for the two rounds.
